Graeme Watkins - Vocalist

Graeme began his career by following up his Degree in Theatre and Performance from UCT with several roles in commercials and theatrical performances. He soon found his way into every South African's Home and Heart as a contestant in MNet's South African Idols V. After emerging with Runner Up status in the competition, Watkins set his sights on Dominating the South African Entertainment Industry. He has remained a familiar face on the South African television scene, enjoying roles such as “Dylan” on Rhythm City, and host of the popular television series “Vodacom Millionaires”. The past 3 years has been a whirlwind of success for The Graeme Watkins Project, having 6 Chart Topping singles, and a new album due out mid 2013. "The best is yet to come", Says Watkins with a smile on his face. Graeme was voted as one of People Magazine’s Stars of the year, as well as enjoying presenting awards at 2012 MK Awards, and the YOU Spectacular awards.

Rudo Pieterse - Bassist

Rudo received his musical education from the “Musicians Institute” in London. Since then, Rudo has experienced a meteoric rise in the South African music scene, finding himself a part of prestigious acts, including Karen Zoid, RJ Benjamin, Judith Sephuma & Sabelo Mthembu to name but a few. In terms of the Graeme Watkins Project, Rudo is largely responsible for the assembly and co-ordination of talents within the band, and regularly establishes his immense talents through his imaginative bass lines and innovative song-writing styles. As a music purist, Rudo thrives at the opportunity to collaborate with musical acts of any genre and create new and exciting sounds. He is a regular on the jazz scene, collaborating with the likes of Justin Bardenhorst (Carlo Mombeli) and Nduduzo Makathini (industry-leading Jazz pianist) in their trio called Jazzonova. Rudo harnesses his passion of photography on the side & has found himself in demand through his freelance photography for You and Heat Magazine. Combining his extensive knowledge and awesome skill it is not hard to understand why some of South Africa’s top industry insiders swear by Rudo’s talents.

Matthew Marinus - Drummer

Matthew Marinus has been a prominent figure in South Africa’s music industry for over 8 years. It is hard to pin point Matthew’s exact direction in the industry, as he has excelled in so many aspects of it. Lending his talents to various aspects of the music industry from Theatre to Commercials, he found his place working amongst some of South Africa's top talents "In Studio" with the likes of: Zebra and Giraffe, Fevertree , Liam Kelly, Pres (coca cola popstars), Farryl Purkiss, RJ Benjamin To top it off Matthew has extended his field of knowledge into cinematography and editing, combining his love of music and film, and lending his talents to producing EPK’s and Music Videos to the local music industry.
Matthew’s extensive knowledge and experience has been an asset to “The Graeme Watkins Project”. Since joining the band, Matthew’s eclectic understanding and alternative insights brings life to each and every song, as well as playing a prominent role in the song writing process.

Ryno Zeelie - Guitarist

Ryno Zeelie has been an accomplished guitarist for over 12 years. First picking up a guitar at 16, Ryno has methodically established himself in the South African music scene, and to date, has played with a number of South Africa’s top artists and Theatre shows.
Ryno first got his big break in Theatre, and today, is one of the most sought after guitar talents in South Africa. Ryno is wealth of knowledge and has gained industry experience from playing with the likes of: Danny K, Skouspel , Lizl Graham, Elvis Blue, Dewald Louw and Kabelo Ryno recently opened his own recording studio, Figure of 8 Productions, providing his producing and engineering expertise to many of the artists who come through his door. Figure of 8 is proud to have hosted the talents of Mi Casa, Zonke, Lira, AKA, Locnville, Elvis Blue, Liquid Deep, RJ Benjamin, Lloyd Cele and Loyiso at their premises. Ryno’s skill and intense understanding of his medium has been an asset to the collaboration of the Graeme Watkins Project. His sheer brilliance in terms of understanding music in general has been pivotal to the song writing process, and makes it easy to see why this young man is constantly in demand.
